Fr Mark Impson

Fr Mark Impson, who was ordained for the Diocese of Aberdeen in June 2003. Fr Mark was a regular visitor to our parish prior to his ordination. He took up his new parish duties on 21 July, 2003. As a parish we would like to extend our thanks to Fr Mark and our best wishes for the future. We’re sure he’ll not be a stranger.

Fr Peter Okuma

Fr Peter Okuma, of the Diocese of Orlu in Nigeria, who helped us out during the first three weeks in July, 2003, and gave Fr John a much needed break. He left on 21 July to return to his studies in Belgium. Despite his short stay, Fr Peter made a big impact on the parish and we all hope to see him again in future years. We wish him every success in his studies and our prayers go with him.

Fr Silvanus

Fr Silvanus helped out in the parish during September, 2003, leaving to return to his native Nigeria, where he is Spiritual Director in a senior seminary, on 30th of the month. The picture above was taken on a trip with some parishioners from our Justice & Peace Group to St Mungo’s Museum and the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art, where there was an exhibition entitled ‘Sanctuary’ on the plight of refugees and political prisoners.
We would like to thank Fr Silvanus for his invaluable help and wish him the very best on his return to Nigeria. We hope to see him again in future years.

Parishioners enjoy themselves in the hall after the Mass to celebrate Fr John’s ministry (see above left).

Fr John receives a gift from Fr Walsh on behalf of the parish community at a special Mass on 20 February 2004 to celebrate his 4 years of ministry in St Lucy’s from 1999 to 2003.
