Music Groups

St Lucy’s currently has two music groups covering the two Masses.

The 6pm Vigil Mass group.

The 11am Sunday Mass group.

The music provided by each group is distinct and this offers a very welcome variety, with the opportunity for all members of the music ministry to come together for major celebrations such as Easter and Christmas. New members are always welcome in any of the groups.

The parish also contributes to the music at Sunday Masses at Barlinnie Prison in Glasgow. Several parishes in the archdiocese take part in this, each group taking a turn on the rota which is prepared by the chaplins. St Lucy’s takes two slots on the rota provided by two groups of musicians and cantors from the parish, covering a total of twelve Sundays in the year.
